33 Weeks!

Feeling like a rather pregnant mermaid in this colorful concoction!

I am Florida girl with a Florida baby after all so this is still entirely appropriate for our "Fall/ Winter" down here that doesn't want to dip below 85...

Viva la sunshine!

Kisses,

K

Marty Sklar Talk

I had the phenomenal opportunity to go to a Disney Vacation Club talk by the unparalleled Disney Legend and former imagineer Marty Sklar over at the Contemporary Hotel and Resort.
He has had his hand in many (most) of the things, rides, parks, and designs that Disney lovers hold dear. Including classics like the Tiki Room! His work is meaningful, joyful, and prolific. No wond they made him a Disney Legend! (A very special award.)
And he's the only person to have been to every single Disney park opening worldwide. Neat, huh?
He was there to talk about his new book "One Little Spark!"
And can I just tell you... He is AMAZING! His book is wonderful and he is such a fun and incredibly inspirational person!
Such a joy to listen to him and his stories. That's the man himself above. Sorry the photos are so bad. I wasn't in a spot for great photos.
And then, to make the talk even more spectacular it ended with a panel of two current imagineers joining him and the Disney Vacation Club host to answer questions. They are some of the coolest most creative people!
They even stuck around afterwards to answer questions one on one. Such nice guys!
And Marty? He stuck around too! That's him in a small crowd of folks chatting. Eventually I got up the nerve to mosey over myself and to shake the man's hand and thank him for his amazing work over the years and for the amazing talk!

I'm going to gush now, excuse me...

He is such a lovely human being! And... He worked with the magic man himself directly! So, therefore, by getting to shake Marty's hand I am now only one degree away from Walt Disney himself! Epic!

Definitely one of those experiences that I will always remember and treasure. So grateful to my parents for getting us tickets and to the Disney Vacation club for putting on such awesome member events!

Just epic!

If you're interested in knowing more about Marty Sklar be sure to give him a Google and check out his books (old and new). You won't be disappointed. He's a super neat guy!

K

Things Lately

Things have been picking up as the holidays get closer and closer around here. I'm sure they have for you too!
But Abby has discovered a new favorite peaceful activity in the midst of the chaos. I call it sun sitting but it's really sun sleeping.
At the time of day when the sun comes in through the door on this specific spot this is where she can found. Happy and relaxed.
We started our birthing class this week! Eeep! It's so exciting and a little nerve racking!
I finally got a red cup treat! (No caffeine of course though.)
And my nephew had the most ADORABLE photo shoot that this Auntie just had to brag! He is the cutest!!!
The furniture for the nursery came back from being refinished in a high shine white. It's actually the same pieces I had in my childhood room.

And I got some lovely flowers which always brightens my day!
How have things been lately for you?

K

Lunch at the Columbia

The Husband and I got the opportunity to slip out for a late lunch the other day and we headed to downtown Celebration to one of our favorite places, The Columbia.
They have the yummiest Cuban food around that really hits the spot!
And the atmosphere is so lovely!
Fyi, the mojitos are to die for! And don't worry I haven't had one since before getting pregnant. But if your able to imbibe I highly recommend them!
Needless to say, I did NOT.
I did have a delicious hot pressed Cuban sandwich with plantain chips though.
Divine! If you've never had one and eat meat it's a must try!
Everything I've had there has been super yummy though!
And to finish the Husband and I split a Dulce de Leche flan topped with toffee crumbles... Mmmmm...
If you're ever nearby in Florida and looking for some authentic cuisine and a lovely leisurely meal this is the place!
Kisses,
K

Epcot Food and Wine 2015

This year was the Food and Wine Festival's 20th anniversary!
So despite being very pregnant and sick I had to try and go... It's one of my all time favorite events after all. Disney and food? That's my happy place!
So the Husband and I drove over and while it was rough and I only made it for just under two hours I was super happy and fortunate to have been ble to go at all.
We came in through the back entrance so we started off in my favorite country for food, Canada!
Their beef filet with mushrooms is Aaahmazing if you eat meat! And the beer cheddar soup? THE best! Yummy!

It was pretty hot out but the World Showcase was still looking lovely!

I also snuck in a bumpie pic with the official festival sign for my son's future prosperity.

And the topiaries I got to see were on point as always!

It wasn't a good time of day for pictures at all (beautiful sunshine can make for some bad shadows) but here's the sweet Husband.

And because I'm so pregnant and it was so hot... We were grateful to have the air conditioned Chase lounge to sit in.
We actually ended up in here most of the time because it was just too HOT for me out there!
It's pretty neat though because it's actually up on the top floor of the American Pavilion in Epcot and the rest of the year it's off limits. So you feel pretty spiffy being able to go up there.
They also offered free charging stations, a special wine tasting you could buy, and unlimited free sodas and water.

Plus, you can look out the window and across the lagoon at Spaceship Earth. It's a good place to be.

Which is good indeed because after that, we went home. It was a very short trip but I am very lucky to be a pass holder so I can do stuff like this.

Despite not being there long we had a nice time!

And cooled off a little at the Boardwalk hotel before we left. It's our favorite because we got married there!

Now if only I can make it back again for a longer trip and try more food!

Kisses,

K

What I Bought...

A hash tag that makes my heart potter patter...

#BuyMeLilly

Yes, please!

It was a celebration of Lilly's birthday and that meant gifts with purchase... Which meant the sweet Husband went to my favorite local Lilly store in Winter Park with me...

And they had lots of goodies on the sale rack!

Goodies that look great with a baby bump and should still look great post baby bump. Yes, please!

I scored this lovely dress.

And this awesome mermaid inspired one that's made from a lightweight neoprene like fabric. Very Florida girl.

A palmy shirt for balmy days.

The blue bamboo covered comfy pants.

And a fun Florida-y orange candle as one of my gifts with purchase.

I felt like I made out like a bandit, especially since every item was on sale!

Of course, there's always more I'd love to "adopt" into my closet but this spoiled girl is pretty happy!

And since it's still been HOT (we're talking 90's Fahrenheit here, folks) I can still wear it all no problem here. Love Lilly Pulitzer!

Florida life, still waiting for Fall to come but loving the sunshine!

Kisses,

K
