Inspire Me Tuesday

What do you see when you dream?

Or daydream?

I often picture Paris alight with the sun's glorious rays casting golden colors amongst the shadows...

It reminds of a time when I was young and free. When I lived in Paris and just the living there made the world seem so big and so small and so possible all at the same time. When my hopes were fresh and my spirit barely bruised...

I am grateful for all that life has sent me since then, both the joys and the sorrows.

But sometimes I dream of that time... Of that freshness and wonder.

I smile at that girl who knew so much and so little. If I could, I'd thank her.

Because when I daydream about sunsets in Paris, I daydream about her.

And she reminds me that anything and everything is possible still.

Always possible.

Kisses,

K

Disney Day: Dinner at Sana

The Husband and I have been trying to make time to "date" each other more and the other. Ought he surprised me with dinner at Sana, the Indian/ African restaurant on the Vacation Club Kidani Village side of Animal Kingdom's lodge.
Since it was date night I made and effort and trotted out the heels and a cute new clutch I love.
We were both pretty tired looking cause we were both pretty tired but it was still fun. I loved this wall of lanterns at the entrance.
The whole resort has these wonderful quotes painted on the walls throughout. I really loved this touch! This one is in the main entrance.
The lobby was beautiful.
And of course I went straight to the windows to look for animals on the "Savannah." Do you see the giraffe?
Pic heavy animal sightings and food goodness after the jump!

She Sells Sea Shells

I love working with natural materials and these shells I collected on my trip to Hawaii back in January make me dream tropical dreams...
Some are from a Kumu (teacher) who taught us about the local history, nature, and lei making. And some are direct from the ocean to me.

I can't wait to wear them while daydreaming of sea turtles and waves..

Bevies of Beverages

Elderflower Green Tea Slush
To make this fun and easy alchoholic slushy you only need three ingredients: iced green tea, Elderflower Liquor, and ice.
Pour one shot of the liquor per two cups of green tea into your blender.
Add ice to the top of the liquids then blend.

Pour and enjoy!

I used St. Germain, one of my faves, and pre-brewed and pre-sweetened green iced tea from my local grocery store, Publix.

But you could also use Arizona brand green iced tea or brew your own hot, sweeten it, then chill it.

No matter what specifics you choose, though, you'll end up with a refreshingly cool and yummy slush! Perfect for spring and summer!

K

Today is my wonderful Mother's birthday!

She may be the most fabulous woman I know!

Hope you have a wonderful day Mom! So glad I finally get to spend a birthday celebrating you in person again!

Wanderlust Wednesday Foodie Edition: Proper Pie Co.

The other day my Husband and I were craving some honest to goodness British crumpets... Mmm... Back in Seattle we'd just head on down to Pikes Place Market to the awesome crumpet dedicated bakery there.
(So so good, if you're ever that way go!)
But where to go here inOrlando
A quick internet search lead us to Proper Pie Company.
So we popped in the car.
It's a fantastic authentically British and totally yummy bakery.
They bake a variety of sweet and savory pies everyday and even do fish and chips every Friday.
The bakery itself is pretty small and informal with the kitchen area visible and in a tiny roadside plaza but the food...
So yummmy!
They have pies coming out of the oven, pies baked and frozen for travel (One Brit in front of us in line drives all the way down from North Carolina), and pies baked that morning that are chilled in the refrigerated display with along with Brit desserts and drinks.
If they don't have what you want hot, no problem.
They'll make it toasty in a jiffy.
They also have all the yummy shelf goods. Like the British Oxo gravy and my favorite candy, the crunchie bar.
They even had the British Easter candy in stock for the holiday!
(I was sure to pick one up to tuck in my Husband's basket.)
And this Vimto I tried, it's like a blue slushie! One of my favorite things!

If you're in a hurry to fill your tummy, like we were, you can take your hot pie outside to a little picnic table. The staff will bring anything being heated out to you along with some HP (kind of like a British A1 steak sauce).

The pie above was a yummy curry one but every kind we tried was sooo delicious that we couldn't pick a favorite.

And if you want to pack it up and bring it home everything heats to perfection still.

Even this Scotch egg was still yummy heated up at home.

(It's a hard boiled egg covered in a breaded sausage mixture that's lightly fried and sometimes has bacon thrown in there too for good measure.)

Of course, they had crumpets and scones too but we ended up saving those for another day. Lol.

Proper indeed!

If you're local, go!

(They ship and cater too!)
