Merry Christmas

Oh! Christmas Tree...

Hi! I disappeared again... But now I'm back! Sort of...

After loads of traveling I've been feeling quite a bit under the weather... So of course that means I've ended falling down a few internets rabbit holes...

When I came across this epic chandelier Christmas tree I had to know more and clicked on through! Apparently it's amazing design harkens from the brain of The House That Lars Built blogger's friend named Mary...

While I couldn't seem to find much more on Mary herself, (Très mysterious no...) I really suggest you click through to here and check out more of this amazing-ness!

I'm still pretty beat but couldn't help but pop in to share this!

I'm thinking there needs to be some chandelier thrifting in my future so I can try my hand at this someday... Ahhh... So much pretty!

So in love with this!

Kisses,

K

P.S.,

I hope all the Americans had the most wonderful Thanksgiving! We all have so many blessings and reasons to give thanks everyday, even the bad ones, if we just look for them!

(All images taken by Trisha Zemp and found via The House That Lars Built. Super genius creative Mary remains a mystery to me thus far but if you have more info please let me know!)

Disney Vacation Club

I got to peek inside the new Disney Vacation Club at the Grand Floridian the other week. Not inside the rooms but just the lobby.
It was a small lobby but very cute.
Mary Poppins penguins hanging out in the lobby fountain.

Ready to serve!

The large chandeliers are strung with green crystals.
The elevator floor indicator is Mary Poppins umbrella! Going up?
The sconces also reflect the green scheme.
Going down?
A close up of one of the few Holiday decorations I found there. I was surprised that there weren't very many at all...
Mickey in the carpets.
An outdoor fountain.
The walkway between the Grand and the villas was swagged in garlands.

Overall I'm still not sure about these new villas... I don't feel they integrate well with the rest of the property but they are pretty lovely besides that.

Disney At Christmas...

Nobody does Christmas like theGrand Floridian Resort and Spa at Disney World...
First of all, location, location, location.

Then there's all the fun new water playgrounds...

Then you get inside and even the stairs are swathed in holiday fabulousness.
And that tree? Wow!
Plus, there is almost always live music playing.
Either a pianist on the lobbies own grand piano or a big band in the balcony on the second floor.
And that tree!?!
Plus, there's always a huge gingerbread house that you can actually buy gingerbread out of... More on that on a later post though...
Then there's the fun takes on Victorian decor like this crypts covered stag head in a shop window. (Love this! I think I might try to DIY it next year for Christmas...)

It's my most favorite Holiday spot anywhere!

Christmas Time

Christmas has finally come at my house!
My guest rooms are ready and my in laws are here to fill them! (Hooray!)
In the Queen guest room I went for a cozy rustic theme and added a touch of Disney with the throw pillow. The Husband and I also bought the new glow with the show mickey ears for them to wear to the parks so I put bows around the ears and set them up on the pillows to greet them.
In the twin room we invite you to "Be our Guest!" (Please note that we are renting and the room was this lime green shade when we got here... I'm trying to work with it. Also, shout out to my sister Stacy who sent me these beautiful ivory and gold embroidered dove garlands for Christmas last year!)
Every year previously my husband and I only had room for a tiny tree so we would just purchase two bird ornaments for Christmas (We've done this since we started dating almost ten years ago. Wow, I'm getting older...) So this year we chose two sweet tiny little glass birds from Germany in Epcot at Disney. I set the little tree up in the family room by the tv...
And we got a big tree this year now that we have the space! So I set it up in the living room/ stair/ entryway area.
Presents wrapped and ready! (And off the ground so the teething puppy doesn't eat them!)
(The teething terrier terror! She's wearing a onesie at other pet owners recommendations in order to protect her stitches from her spay surgery last week.)
Mistletoe in the foreground that I made for my husband last year (DIY post with instructions here), stockings, garland, and tree.
A festive topiary and sign for the loft.

Five stocking on the stairs. (The puppy's is in the family room by her stuff.)

Sending you Holiday Kisses!
