Wanderlust Wednesday

White Cliffs of Dover in England

Maybe it's the Shakespeare lover in me (it is) or the geology nerd (also true) but I've always wanted to see the iconic white cliffs of Dover in England...

No wonder so many stories are set there. Just Magnifeicent.

Don't we live on an incredibly dynamic planet?

What I Wore; Happy St Patricks Day!

I know most people celebrated over the weekend but today is St. Patricks Day so in honor of the ocassion I donned some of my luckiest green pieces today.
I built my outfit around this cute sparkly and metallic green tee from Disney. (I purchased it in Mouse Gears inside of Epcot but I'm pretty sure you'll be able to find it in Disney stores around the country and definitely at Downtown Disney locations.)
Then I added this multi-green and navy tweed pencil skirt from past seasons at J Crew.
Next cam my favorite part, accessories!
I layered in a semi-precious and precious gemstone and sterling necklace and matching chrysoprase earrings from my past Argento Alchemy works as well as a braided wrap bracelet.
I also wore a vintage green crystal clip earring from my Grandmother that had lost its mate as a brooch. As well as a Honduran inlaid sterling cuff, a Michaud cuff, and a large green druzy ring.

Here is a more detailed shot (bottom to top):

Large green druzy ring

Hand dyed silk, hand forged fine silver link, and black pearl braided wrap bracelet.

Michael Michaud eucalyptus cuff

Since I work at home I can get away with a Mickey tee and tons of jewelry but...

For those of you who don't I also pulled together some more office friendly inspiration above.

Details: Argento Alchemy petite chrysoprase briolette dangles on German sterling huggie hoops, vintage green crystal clip earring worn as a brooch, and work appropriate bangles in jade from Chinatown in Chicago and navy, green, and white cloisonné from France.

Just swap out the tee shirt for a white or blue button down plus heels and your work ready instead.

Hope you have a lucky Monday!

Kisses,

K

What I Ate: Macarons

Let's talk sweets.
Specifically macarons.
When the Husband and I were in downtown Winter Park we stumbled upon one of the franchise locations of Le Macaron.
All I can say is yum!

"Bringing you the famous macaron from Paris

The macaron is considered to be the jewel of french pastries in Europe. Shopping for macarons and other French pastries is an enjoyable experience.

There is a quality of life the French have perfected. It requires you to slow the pace of life and take the time to do things right, using high quality ingredients and perfecting a craft. It is about allowing yourself a little luxury and slowing down long enough to appreciate the quality of a thing done right.

We have done our best to capture that French spirit in our delicacies so we can share it with our customers. We have tested and perfected recipes for products made in our bakery. We are very proud of the quality of our products. We offer little luxuries that make people smile — make life a little better.

Over the years, we have put our heart and soul into making Le Macaron French Pastries what it is today."

This location is tucked away down a cute little garden path in the middle of the shops at Winter Park and is a lovely little surprise.
They serve macarons, fine chocolates, and gelato. We chose a small box of macarons to take home and each picked a chocolate for now.
The Husband chose a salted caramel that was practically perfect.
I had a passion fruit and milk chocolate heart. Just the right amount of tart sweetness.
And the macarons? Soooo yummy!
Belgian Chocolate
Gianduja and Hazelnut Cream
Sicilian Pistachio
Coconut

Madagascar Black Vanilla

Black Currant

The other flavors we tried were:

Basil White Chocolate, Columbian Coffee, Passion Fruit Dark Chocolate, Caramel Fleur de Sel, Rasberry, Key Lime- Strawberry, and Columbian Coffee

Delicious! If you're near a location and looking for something special for someone special (or just something yummy for you) I highly recommend it!

Kisses,

K

Disney Day: Part 2

After departing the Magic Kingdom we hopped on the monorail and headed over to the Polynesian Hotel for a snack.

My little brother is looking oh so fab on the left and that's my husband on the right.

My sister in law Jen on the right and our friend Erin on the left.

At the Poly I got a Dolewhip.

For those of you out of the know a Dolewhip is one of the yummiest desserts at Disney! It's Dole pineapple flavored ice cream that can be swirled with an amazing vanilla if you so choose, and I always do.

Yummm!

Then we drove over to Animal Kingdom and rode Dinosaur where this fine fellow above greeted us.

And we looked fantastic riding it too I might add... (Don't know the people in the front row though.)

Then we got silly with the welcome sign.

Yes, can I help you?

I loved this geology pun on our way over to ride Everest.

Prayer flags and Everest.

The queue for the ride is pretty cool. You wind in and out of buildings full of climbing essentials and Yeti "history."

The prayer flags hanging throughout are really colorful and pretty.

And the ride is super fun! It was way faster than I remembered it being. (The last time I was in Animal Kingdom was over 8 years ago I think...) Also, the infamously broken million dollar Yeti (a animatronic yeti that has been non functional and broken for quite some time) surprised us as it was fully functional again and we were truly not expecting it. Lol.

A good time was had by all till the I'm too old for this kind of stuff headaches set in. So we called it a night shortly after.

We passed hundreds upon hundreds of Ibis on our way out sleeping in the trees. Unfortunately I couldn't get any photo to do it justice but all the lighter spots at the top are birds and as the pic turns to black it's because it was dark outside and the birds were so densely packed in the trees there.

It was a fun day!

Disney Day

A couple weekends ago the Husband and I headed over to the parks for the day to meet some family and a friend.

Naturally this called for wearing my new fuzzy Minnie ears and Cakeworhy Coach tee.

I may or may not have picked up these fuzzy little beauties in the children's section of the store over at the Boardwalk hotel and resort. May meaning that I did.
Don't judge. I'm a Disney nerd and they're super fun.
They were a huge hit at the parks too.
We got into the Magic Kingdom in just enough time for the parade.

And on our way back to meet the fam I spotted these baby ducks and had to stop to say hello.

Sooo cute!
The sun was shining and the trees were in bloom. Just lovely.
Unfortunately our family was riding Pirates of the Caribbean by the time we got out from behind the parade so....

I decided this was the perfect time to set a terrible example for all the children exiting the ride while we waited. (Sorry parents. It was fun.)

Also, how cute is this pirate shirt?

Arrr...

Then we headed over to peek at the New Fantasyland and most of the walls surrounding the Seven Dwarfs Mine ride were down!

It looks super cool and I can't wait to ride it!

Also new is this King Triton.

And these cool sketches.

And this awesome Disney Vacation Club map.

Then we stopped in here to see if my sister in law was working. (No dice.)

Where I saw this cute new Ariel tee.

After that we decided to head over to Animal Kingdom so I'll leave you with this topiary tea party till tomorrow.

Kisses,

K
