Consciously Grateful Day Five

Consciously Grateful November Memory Day Five:

Today we are beyond thankful for our family! With all the surgeries, illnesses, traveling and troubles that have been going on lately one can't help but pause and take stock.

We are so fortunate to have such wonderful family in our lives!

Especially one's that live so joyfully and gratefully in defiance of all the odds and one's that come together to care for each other too!

Kisses,

K

Things Lately

This week was a bit crazy...
We started off with trying to write down what we are thankful for everyday for our Consciously Grateful November Memories.
I ended up sick and in the ER...
And it was the worst ER I've ever been too.
Which is saying a lot! I've lived in major metropolises like Chicago and Seattle and been to trauma one level (the most intense) ERs that functioned far better. The same ER were also absolutely terrible after my Mom's major car accident and never started her transfer to the trauma center for surgery and sucked when my pregnant sister had to go there too so I'm not sure why I was surprised but...
Celebration Hospital ER did not even check my blood pressure once in three hours! And our OB office had sent us over... Oy...
We ended up having to leave and get help elsewhere. Baby and I are ok now but it definitely shook my faith in giving birth there...
Then the poor Husband came down with a gnarly cold that's been going round my family.
But...
Abby got the cutest magazine ever in the mail which made me smile!
I enjoyed realizing that my pajama covered baby bump matched my oh so very Florida girl bedding, lol.

And despite both the Husband and I being sick all week Abby was a trooper and entertained herself with all the toys till she wore herself out, lol.
How was your week?

Consciously Grateful Day Four

Consciously Grateful November Memory Day Four:
Today we are especially grateful for our marriage.
The poor Husband has caught a bad cold in the midst of me being sick too. Yet despite us both being under the weather we both keep striving to love and care for the other as best we can at that moment. It is a beautiful thing and one we are both grateful for!
We are so lucky to have each other in our lives and that we both work so hard for our marriage.

Kisses,
K

Consciously Grateful Day Three

Consciously Grateful November Memory Day Three:

Today we are especially grateful for access to healthcare and for our OB office.
I was not feeling very well and (despite an absolutely terrible ER experience...) am so grateful that our baby is ok and that I was able, in the end, to get the care I needed.
Healthcare is such a blessing and one that should never be taken for granted by those of us lucky enough to have access!

K

Consciously Grateful

The 30 days of being consciously extra thankful have begun in my house today! We're thankful for so much every day here but starting this year during November we are writing it down to make memories.

I am using a past Stampin' Up kit combined with a Paper Pumpkin kit that I made with my family last Fall to keep track of what we are thankful for.
Everyday the Husband and I will choose one thing we are thankful for to write down on the cute little cards.
And then every year we will do the same thing while being able to look back on what we were most thankful for that day in previous years.
Fun and full of joy, right?
So on with Day One!

#ConsciouslyGrateful November Memory Day One: we are are beyond over the moon ecstatic to finally be pregnant and having a baby this year! (So much so that it may be our most grateful memory every day in fact.)

Kisses,

K

This is Halloween

We had a blast this Halloween despite lots of crazy complications.
My Mom was able to come home from the hospital finally post operation so the family gathered together at her house to celebrate and hand hand out treats.
So naturally the Husband, pup, and I got festive!
This year Abigail was dressed up as Shark dog. She wasn't thrilled with it so after a few photos we took her costume off. She was so cute though!

I dressed as a very pregnant zebra this year and we took photos on the front porch because it was also our bumpie pic day! (A bumpie is the baby bump version of a selfie. Crazy words for a crazy media filled world, lol.)

(P.S., I wore a past season Nadia Tarr dress. It's not maternity but is made of stretch jersey. Comfy and stylish.)

Beware of the shark dog!

I also made sure to wear my past season Boden Zebra shoes to match. My ears are actually a pair of zebra Mickey ears from Animal Kingdom that I just pinned in temporarily to look more like zebra ears.

And the Husband dressed as my keeper.
Which felt oddly appropriate considering that he spends a lot of time caring for me and feeding me lately while pregnant... ;)
Also, doesn't my parents' front porch above look fab!
In between treat distribution and visiting with Mom we had a bevy of ghoulishly good food to eat!

Festive buns.

Sloppy joes and Mac and cheese cupcakes.

A variety of seasonal apples with dips.
Mummy dogs.
Beautiful homemade rice krispy treats that my Mom made prior to her surgery a few days before. (They tasted as good as they looked!)
Candy corn chocolate pretzels that my sister makes, so good!
And treat bags with cards for party favors that my Mom and I made for everyone earlier in the week with a Paper Pumpkin kit for Halloween.
And this cute card is the one Mom made for the Husband and I!
Love it!

Our neighborhood gets up to 8,000 (yes, 8,000!!!) trick or treaters overall and we handed out to over a 1,000 at my parents house in their section of the neighborhood till we ran out and had to shut down for the night... It was insane!

It even took us over a half an hour to drive the less than two miles home from my parents' house to mine because of all the craziness!

By the time we got home the pup, baby bump, and I were pooped and jammied up for some pre bedtime wind down snuggling.

It was a lovely time!

How was your Halloween?
