Inspire Me Tuesday

I wanted to share a beautiful photo of a beautiful brief moment captured by amateur photographer Mark Hersch today.

Photograph by MARK HERSCH

He says, via the Daily Mail:

'I was flying home to Chicago from a business trip recently,' he said. 'It was a cloudy day, late in the afternoon. We were flying eastbound, made a pass by O'Hare International Airport, then made a sweeping 180-degree left turn over Lake Michigan for our final westward approach into the airport.

'I looked down and through a narrow break in the clouds, I saw the shadow of the Chicago skyline projecting onto the lake. Oddly enough, I am a very frequent flyer and almost always sit in an aisle set, but on this flight there were only window seats available.

'I grabbed my iPhone and snapped off a single shot, hoping I captured the scene. When I got home I opened the photo on my computer. Not only was I amazed at the shot, but I noticed I also captured another plane on a parallel approach - which you can see if you look closely at the clouds above the skyline in the centre of the image."

What a lovely reminder to be present in each moment, to look out for and even enjoy the unexpected when it happens, and to find the joy and beauty surrounding you no matter where you are.

I know with the Holiday season upon us I definitely need that reminder. Sometimes I just have to slow down and that's okay... But while I'm there I might as well enjoy the view...

Kisses,

K

Hawaii

Been on the plane at the gate for over an hour but this pic makes me think of what's ahead!
It's from Instagram and I'm trying to find the where I saved the photo credits. I will post them once I find them but will hopefully be flying by them!
Hopeful Aloha Kisses,

(Not Yet) Flying the Friendly Skies...

Stuck at the gate waiting for our ten hour flight to Hawaii to commence...
Tiny, hot, old plane and water issues before leaving...
On the bright side, I can't wait to get there and see my sister get married!!! Eeep!
With internet access being spotty for the next two weeks I'll keep you posted as I can but will share lots more once we get back home!
Kisses,

On The Road Again

I'm on my way to Florida for my sister in law to be's wedding shower (More to come on that later).

Flying cross continental United States always takes forever and is not my favorite... But I love both places and I'm fortunate enough to go so... If only I look as chic and comfy as the gorgeous model above. It's a trifecta of gorgeous: gorgeous car, girl, and place.

Hope you're having a great Tuesday!

In The Air

I'm so excited! By the time this posts I'll be in the air on the way to Hawaii! (The photo above is actually the clouds from my airplane window on my last flight. They were so thick and pretty!) Hope whatever you have in store for yourself today goes fabulously well!

Kisses,

K

Leaving On A Jet Plane*

By the time you read this I'll be in the air and on my way over the Paciffic... Sigh...

Not to rub it in but I am sooo excited! Since its my first trip to Hawaii I have no idea what to expect but I know it'll be epic! Volcanoes, active lava, open ocean, oh my!

What is a geologically savvy and outdoorsy water girl to do with herself?

Wish husband and I safe travels, please.

Kisses,

K

*You totally have the song in your head now too, don't you?

Time To Travel

PACK/ UNPACK

LAUNDRY

REPEAT

I'll be spending my day finishing laundry from my last trip and getting Husband and I packed for our next trip. I also might am still be trying to get all my Christmas decorations put away... (Shameful, I know. Bad decorator.)

I'm ready to say Aloha to Seattle... and Aloha to Hawaii!

If I get a chance I'll give you a peek into what I pack.

Thank goodness for our winter anniversary because there's nothing better in the dead of winter than escaping the gray for a romantic tropical locale and I cannot wait!

Any Hawaii Packing tips from those who've been before?

Kisses,

K
