Easter Snapshots

Church yesterday morning.
The lace and silk bunny ears I made for Easter.
I think they'll be fun at Disney too.
My first Easter casualty... ;)
The boys and the Westies. (My husband is on the left with Abigail our pup and my little brother is on the right with my parents pup Piper.)
Abigail all dressed up in her Easter best.
And the Peep squeak she got in her basket from her Grandma.
And us trying to take an Easter pic to text to my family not there.
Outtake 1.
Outtake done.
My sparkly Easter bracelet stack.
(From the top down: Cushion cut rock crystal bracelet Christmas present from Blue Nile online, Argento Alchemy made sterling silver sister morse code bracelet by me, Aquamarine bracelet from my siblings when I graduated college, London Blue Topaz and diamond sterling Ippolita bracelet from my Husband, and a pavè white Saphire bangle bracelet from my Mother for my wedding.)

And lastly, a deliciously yummy dinner of homemade stuffed cabbage over mashed potatoes for dinner. My absolute favorite!

Hope your weekend was a great one!

Easter Baskets Of A Sort

I love Easter! The resurrection of my savior, the joy, the renewal, spring,
and,
yes,
the chocolate too!
So here's a peek at what I've got going on in the Easter basket department.
First of all, there are no baskets... I use bird cages.
More after the jump!

Get Nailed: Easter Edition

I wanted to go with pretty pastels for Easter but with the usual Easter bunny and egg nail art.
For my fingers I OPI's Nicole Polish in I Love Salmon and Ciaté's Pepperminty. First, I was sure to use a good base coat so the creamy color came out even. (This also prevents it from dying your nails!) Then, I used a long thin nail art brush to make the mint chevron on my ring fingers only. The look was finished by adding a silver triangle stud inside and an emerald green crystal on the tip.
I used the same color scheme on my toes but instead of matchy matchy nail art I used the same brush to paint a green leaf-scape and added a sprinkling of the same green crystals on my big toes.

For both I completed my work with a shiny quick dry top coat.

My nails are ready.

Spring it on!

Friday Funny

I know I live in Florida now but in honor of my Spring's past and all my friends and family who have fallen prey to this year's "Spring" I give you:

Stay warm my friends! Winter is not coming, unless your watching Game of Thrones then, yes, Winter is coming... Sorry... Not sorry...

Friday Funny

In honor of the first day of Spring happening yesterday and the dreaded "spring cleaning" that follows...

I just want to know what happened to all the dusting mice, sweeping deer, and dish doing, sewing, and singing birds?

Wednesday

Orange you glad it's hump day? (Mike! Mike!)
Lame joke aside, the tiny orange tree in my parents back yard is blooming and ripening reminding me that spring isn't too far away...

Hope these oranges help remind you that warmer days are yet to come! Also, halfway to Friday! What, what!

Spring Has Sprung In Seattle/ I'm Back

So it looks like I've returned home to Seattle just in time for the start of spring!
Just look at the blue sunny sky above the monorail and needle today! Gorgeous!
The first bright spot in any of the gardens around town.

Super cool bark naturally curling up and peeling off a tree. Yes, even tree bark is ready for warm weather and sun around here!

And the best part:

Some of the cherry blossoms have started blooming! Sooo gorgeous! Before you know it all of Seattle and it's surrounding suburbs will be filled with blooming cherry blossoms in the air and daffodils on the ground! Love.

More cherry blossom porn.

Parting shot. (Though probably not my last this spring since this will be my final Seattle spring to enjoy them blooming before the move! I promise I'll say more about it as soon as I can.)

I also am finishing rounding up the shower pics, so that post will come soon. We had such a fun and lovely time!

K

Inspire Me Tuesday

Sunshine

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high

If I had a day that I could give you
I'd give to you the day just like today
If I had a song that I could sing for you
I'd sing a song to make you feel this way

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high

If I had a tale that I could tell you
I'd tell a tale sure to make you smile
If I had a wish that I could wish for you
I'd make a wish for sunshine for all the while

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost all the time makes me high

Today, I am traveling back down to the Sunshine State so I'll leave with a picture of sun on the water and wish you a day filled with sunshine and warm shoulders.

Kisses,

K

Spring Is Near

Hi! I'm in the process of packing and moving amidst many other things so I've found myself neglecting my newly started blog already! Yikes! So, until I get a moment to write the promised vacay posts I'll leave you with a little something.... A photo that harkens the promise of spring. Bright, cheery, but most importantly, still weather appropriate!

See! Bright? Vibrant colors, check! Cheery? Who could resist the playful polka dot nails... Check! Weather appropriate? Gloves, check! After all, it's still c c cold here in the Paciffic Northwest. I plan on trying to channel Kate Spade and bundle up with a Spring in my step and in my wardrobe!

How will you avoid the continued winter weather doldrums and welcome Spring into your life?

Kisses,

K
