Easter Snapshots

Church yesterday morning.
The lace and silk bunny ears I made for Easter.
I think they'll be fun at Disney too.
My first Easter casualty... ;)
The boys and the Westies. (My husband is on the left with Abigail our pup and my little brother is on the right with my parents pup Piper.)
Abigail all dressed up in her Easter best.
And the Peep squeak she got in her basket from her Grandma.
And us trying to take an Easter pic to text to my family not there.
Outtake 1.
Outtake done.
My sparkly Easter bracelet stack.
(From the top down: Cushion cut rock crystal bracelet Christmas present from Blue Nile online, Argento Alchemy made sterling silver sister morse code bracelet by me, Aquamarine bracelet from my siblings when I graduated college, London Blue Topaz and diamond sterling Ippolita bracelet from my Husband, and a pavè white Saphire bangle bracelet from my Mother for my wedding.)

And lastly, a deliciously yummy dinner of homemade stuffed cabbage over mashed potatoes for dinner. My absolute favorite!

Hope your weekend was a great one!

Easter Baskets Of A Sort

I love Easter! The resurrection of my savior, the joy, the renewal, spring,
and,
yes,
the chocolate too!
So here's a peek at what I've got going on in the Easter basket department.
First of all, there are no baskets... I use bird cages.
More after the jump!

Get Nailed: Easter Edition

I wanted to go with pretty pastels for Easter but with the usual Easter bunny and egg nail art.
For my fingers I OPI's Nicole Polish in I Love Salmon and Ciaté's Pepperminty. First, I was sure to use a good base coat so the creamy color came out even. (This also prevents it from dying your nails!) Then, I used a long thin nail art brush to make the mint chevron on my ring fingers only. The look was finished by adding a silver triangle stud inside and an emerald green crystal on the tip.
I used the same color scheme on my toes but instead of matchy matchy nail art I used the same brush to paint a green leaf-scape and added a sprinkling of the same green crystals on my big toes.

For both I completed my work with a shiny quick dry top coat.

My nails are ready.

Spring it on!

K

Easter!

Easter is one of my most treasured holidays. It speaks to the heart of who I am as a Christian and to my family and its traditions.

Being a Pastor's kid while growing up meant that Easter was BIG in our home. Sure we gorged on chocolate and treats and hunted for eggs but it always meant so much more too.

It meant that Christ had died and risen from the dead so that we might be set free from our sins. That the bonds of death are broken so that we might have eternal life! How could I not get behind a sacrifice that awesome!

I know I've never really shared my religion here before but the whole reason Easter may be my MOST favorite holiday, beyond all the cuteness and sugar, is the awesome message of Jesus and his life and the celebration of his sacrifice for all.

On that note I say: "Hooray for Jesus! The Lord is risen indeed!"

Kisses,
K

Happy Easter!
