Epcot Food and Wine 2015

This year was the Food and Wine Festival's 20th anniversary!

So despite being very pregnant and sick I had to try and go... It's one of my all time favorite events after all. Disney and food? That's my happy place!

So the Husband and I drove over and while it was rough and I only made it for just under two hours I was super happy and fortunate to have been ble to go at all.

We came in through the back entrance so we started off in my favorite country for food, Canada!

Their beef filet with mushrooms is Aaahmazing if you eat meat! And the beer cheddar soup? THE best! Yummy!

It was pretty hot out but the World Showcase was still looking lovely!

I also snuck in a bumpie pic with the official festival sign for my son's future prosperity.

And the topiaries I got to see were on point as always!

It wasn't a good time of day for pictures at all (beautiful sunshine can make for some bad shadows) but here's the sweet Husband.

And because I'm so pregnant and it was so hot... We were grateful to have the air conditioned Chase lounge to sit in.

We actually ended up in here most of the time because it was just too HOT for me out there!

It's pretty neat though because it's actually up on the top floor of the American Pavilion in Epcot and the rest of the year it's off limits. So you feel pretty spiffy being able to go up there.

They also offered free charging stations, a special wine tasting you could buy, and unlimited free sodas and water.

Plus, you can look out the window and across the lagoon at Spaceship Earth. It's a good place to be.

Which is good indeed because after that, we went home. It was a very short trip but I am very lucky to be a pass holder so I can do stuff like this.

Despite not being there long we had a nice time!

And cooled off a little at the Boardwalk hotel before we left. It's our favorite because we got married there!

Now if only I can make it back again for a longer trip and try more food!

Food And Wine Thus Far

A photo drop of my Epcot Food and Wine Festival excursions thus far.

Double rainbows on the way into the parks!

Sporting my Magic Band with the Small World cover, an Argento Alchemy original silver and braided silk bracelet, a silk thread friendship bracelet (that I share with my Mom actually) from J Crew's past seasons, and my freshly loaded food and wine bracelet. You load it up with money so you can just hold it up and have it scanned. No fumbling with wallets which you would otherwise do a lot. It also helps keep you on budget, when the money you loaded is gone... You're done!

The view out the top floor windows of the American Pavillion in the Chase Banking members lounge. Just flash your bank card and your in! You'll enjoy a free quirky soda extravaganza, access to a place you never normally get to, A/C, nice restrooms, and free charging stations for your electronics.

The Brazil stand plays lively music and is cheerful even on the rainiest of days.

The "banks" of the French Pavillion overlooking the lagoon and the Morrocan, Japanese, American, and Italian pavilloins (respectively when going counter-clockwise).

Disney Day: The Living Seas

One of Disney's many cool places to check out is The Living Seas at Epcot.

I love to stop by and visit all the sea life.

This time we noticed something we've never seen before... An underwater "hidden" Mickey.

Very Disney, very fun.

Then we visited the manatees. This guy had been in a bad boating accident and after being rehabilitated was still too damaged to survive in the wild so he now makes his home here.

Him and his friend are well fed and cared for.

It's a good reminder to follow boating speeds, laws, and be careful while having fun out on the water. These friendly majestic creatures are unfortunately one of many that humans carelessly injure all too often...

On a different note, how fast are these fish zipping about their aquarium nursery. They were really moving!

And these clownfish!?!

Let's talk about them!

They are sooo tiny! (Look at my fingers for comparison.) Teeny tiny and very cute!

I was in love with them!

Such colorful little ones.

And the kids go nuts for them calling them Nemo. Also very cute.

They're in a special nursery section of the Living Seas where they breed and raise them. After they are old enough they release them into the wild to help rehabilitate Earth's struggling coral reefs. Awesome, right!

Disney Day

The other week my Husband and I decided to use our Disney annual passes to pop over to the parks for a bit. It was a pretty cold and rainy day so we knew it wouldn't be crowded. We headed over first to the Beach Club Resort for a little bit.

I've always loved this amazing vintage car that's outside the resort.

So when the door was open I went for it and hopped in!

I'm not sure if you are allowed to or not... And I felt like I was solemnly up to no good so I had the Husband take some quick photos and I hopped out fast. It was so cool.

And how awesome are the mint rims!?!

I was pretty giddy about it.

Next we headed into Epcot to get some lunch.

We decided to eat in England. The husband's mum is British so after being together for ten years British food just feels homey and yummy, especially on a chilly wet day.

It was so cold that the leaves down here in Florida finally turned and started to fall. Fall in the late winter cold snap? Only in Florida... Lol.

So once seated in the Rose and Crown Pub (sorry, I didn't take any pics of it for some reason... but to see some and peek at the menu click over to WDW Info.) we promptly got down to business...

Business meaning beer. The husband ordered a Guinness and I ordered one of my favorites, a Strongbow dry English cider. Then we ordered all our favorites to share between the two of us.

Scotch Egg - Golden fried hard boiled egg wrapped in sausage meat with mustard sauce.

I'm allergic to eggs (no anaphylactic shock or anything just a bad tummy ache and hives) but even I make an exception for this fried piece of yummm and take a bite...

Seasonal Potato and Leek Soup topped with fresh chives and potato crisps.

Bubble and Squeak.

It wasn't the kind we're used to eating when we visit home (veggies and whatever's leftover fried up together in little potato patties) but it was still good. More of a different take on Shepard's pie, though.

Cottage pie (aka, Shepard's pie)- Ground Beef, onions, mushrooms, creamy mashed potatoes and cheddar cheese.

This is always superb here. The cheesy crust on top of the potatoes really brings it home!

Then we proceeded to walk off the heavy meal we just ate by strolling around for a bit.

Epcot always has the best flowers (the upcoming flower and garden show their is one of my all time favorite Disney events every year!).

These roses smelled even lovelier than they look!

And on our way out we decided to ride Spaceship Earth. It's inside the giant silver geodesic globe at the front of the park. It tells you some of humanity's historical highlights and is pretty cool.

Plus it has some really neat effects inside. Check out this earth in the night sky view.

And this lighting situation you ride through towards the end is always super cool.

Then as you ride back down the globe you get to choose information that also uses your photo to depict a nifty future you.

Here we are in our self driving space car.

And out robot is always so helpful caring for our beloved pets while we're away from our floating house.

We're also super shiny and happy!

Aaand... We have a second house under the sea!

It's a future I could really get behind.
